Grotonwood Low Mobility Camp
Back to Grotonwood Special Needs CampsDuring week 1, we will accept a LIMITED number of applicants who are of LOW MOBILITY (require more care than a regular vacation week camper). There will be several spaces for campers with walkers, canes, or wheelchairs during THIS WEEK ONLY. All other weeks will remain the same as far as the mobility requirements spelled out in the application. Campers attending LOW MOBILITY week will NOT be allowed to stay for two weeks. Indication of LOW MOBILITY must be clearly written on the application, where the session is asked for on page 1. NOTE: There is an ADDITIONAL COST for this session of camp (see Price List). Please call the camp for more information.

What you need to know
The four-page camper application AND four-page medical form must be received by Grotonwood-Oceanwood, along with payment of the non-refundable/non-transferable deposit, in order to reserve a space for camp.
PHONE RESERVATIONS are NOT accepted. ONLINE RESERVATIONS are NOT accepted, due to the length of the application.
ALL applicants are required to complete the application and medical form. It is very important to be as detailed as possible to ensure adequate care for the camper. Once the application form is filled out, return it to the address listed on the form, along with the deposit. Just sending the completed application and deposit does NOT guarantee the camper a spot for the session. Prior to acceptance to camp, camp personnel and the camp nurse will review all forms. If any questions arise, camp personnel will contact the care provider or responsible person using the phone numbers provided on the application forms.
HOLDOVER weekends are available at GROTONWOOD only. They are ONLY for those campers registering for 2 consecutive weeks of camp. NOTE: Holdovers are also designed for those campers able to handle 2 full weeks of camp and who are high-functioning with NO mobility issues. If you have a question about holdovers, PLEASE call the camp office BEFORE you complete the application.
